Newsletter June 2026

Dear all,

As we know you are all aware our dear friend Jenny Broadway passed away recently and will be very greatly missed by us all. She was a very special lady who gave so much to our group. It was a testament to her life that so many people, including many of us, attended her funeral which was a very special time for remembering her and the impact she had on us all. Our thoughts and prayers remain with Chris and Amanda at this time.

The Committee met this week and there are several items for your information – see below:

LADIES DAY

By the time you read this the cast will only have a couple of rehearsals left before curtains go up! So do please have a final push at selling tickets (or get yours if you haven’t already). It is a great show and our support for all those involved will be greatly appreciated. Follow the link at www.littlewathamdrama.com for tickets.

PANTOMIME 2027

The Committee has unanimously approved the Pantomime for January 2027 which will be Hansel and Gretel.

The Committee is very grateful indeed to Julie Cole who has kindly agreed to direct the show and more details will be sent out once Ladies Day has had its run.

SUMMER SHOW 2027

Now that we know what Pantomime we will be performing in January 2027 the Committee is also asking for people to come forward with ideas for the Summer Show 2027. We have already had one offer (a Murder Mystery) but are aware that others might have suggestions too. The deadline for this will be July 20th as the Committee will be meeting for the final time this year and is keen to make a decision on this then.

AGM

7th September at 8:00 pm

Just to remind everyone to keep this date free for our AGM. Lallie will be sending the papers out in August so that you all have them in good time. We also thought we should let you know that Hugh will be stepping down from the Committee (having been the Chair for about 6 years). Linda and Lallie will also be stepping down from the Committee as they too need a break 😊. This will leave vacancies for the Chair, Secretary and at least one additional committee member. We do hope that others will come forward to take up the reins.

And finally...

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions for forthcoming shows (Pantomimes, dramas, musicals, murder mysteries etc) please do let the Committee know at any time of the year – we would love to hear from you. It is always good to know which shows we could put on well in advance.
