Little Waltham Drama Group

Newsletter July 2026
Dear all,
I do hope that you have all managed the heatwave over the past week or so… the nearest to the summer of 1976 that we have been since then… a long time coming.
The Committee met this week for the final time this year and below are just a couple of items for your information – see below:

LADIES DAY
Well done to the cast and crew of Ladies Day. The show was really well received by the audiences and our thanks must go to Hannah (Walker) for her direction.

SHOWS FOR 2027
The Committee are absolutely delighted to announce that in 2027 there will be THREE shows!!!
This is the first time since Covid that we have been able to do this, and we really do hope that members will come forward to take part in these shows as it would be lovely to go back to 3 shows a year.
The shows are as follows:
-
Julie Cole has kindly offered to direct our Pantomime in January which will be Hansel and Gretel.
-
Lallie Godfrey has agreed to direct a Murder Mystery, ‘Who Killed the Spy?’ which will be in the Spring.
-
Hannah Walker has agreed to direct the sequel to Ladies’ Day - ‘Ladies’ Day – Down Under’ which will be in the Summer.
Keep your eye out for information from Julie about readthrough/audition dates etc as these will be happening in September… ‘Oh yes they will’.
Further details about the Spring and Summer Shows will also be coming out during 2027.
There has also been an offer for directing the 2028 Pantomime which is incredible. However, the Committee is aware that other members may also have ideas for the 2028 Pantomime. If so please do let the new Committee know as soon as possible so that decisions can be made.
AGM
7th September at 8:00 pm
Just to remind everyone to keep this date free for our AGM. I will be sending the papers out in August so that you all have them in good time.
There will be vacancies for the Chair, Secretary and at least one additional committee member. Please take time to consider whether this is something you would be willing to take on – it isn’t too arduous.
And finally...a message from Hugh
I will be standing down as Chair of LWDG and I would like to say a big thank you to the Committee who have enabled the group to put on some fantastic shows over the past six years. It has been lovely to welcome new members and watch our group develop and grow.
I wish the new Committee good luck in all that they do and I will see you on the next show.
